Fitting landrover wheels to a T5

Fitting landrover wheels to a T5 is fairly easy as the Landrover and VW T5 vehicles share the same bolt pattern. So if you can get some Landrover wheels, what you will need to fit them straight on to your T5 is a spigot and  bolt kit. The spigot kit is four collars one for each wheel that ensure that your wheels sit perfectly on the hub body and allow the bolt kit to line up properly easily to ensure safe fitting of the wheel. I got the bolt and spigot kit from the internet for 100€. Google is your friend.

The wheels I am using are 17 ” and they came off a Landrover Discovery Three that was being broken in a breakers yard near me. The original tyres were too big to fit the T5 so I got some New Cooper Zeon 4XS Sport 225/65R17 102 H these tyres with the 102 load rating comply to the weight of the van. Being a 17″ wheel means of course that the speedo reads over. In actual fact using a Garmin GPS the van now does 101KMH at an indicated 100KMH so the van is much closer to real speed now that it was previously.

Obviously the new wheels fill the arches much better than the sixteen inch wheels and the overall look is enhanced. Not sure I would have done the mod if I had not been able to pick up the wheels for a pittance as alloy wheels can work out expensive. The van needed two new tyres in any case so the conversion to Alloy was easy enough to make.
