Quintessential Quin is the place to be if you ever feel like having a puncture. Nadette and I slept in a tidy lay by in Quin behind the old ruined abbey and had a good nights sleep. Which was needed after a fine meal at the TaT bar and Restaurant.
In the morning we had an easy cup of tea in the van whilst waking up and getting ready to go and watch Neil race in the last stage of the Junior Tour of Ireland. However when we pulled away it was immediately obvious that we had a problem. The front tyre was as flat as a pancake. So I jacked up the van and removed the wheel only to find that the spare wheel was too small to fit the van, doh…
Now we were feeling banjacxed , there was no need however as the first car that came along driven by Brendan stopped to help, he drove off to see if the local garage was open. In the meantime Cahil stopped and then drove off to get a foot pump as we found that the puncture was a nail still in the tyre. Cahil came back and we pumped up the tyre but the pump broke…
Then Brendan came back and told us the garage man was tired after a night out, so he drove me to Ennis to Kevins garage who then repaired my tyre free of charge. Quin Tyre Facebook Page
So many thanks to Brendan, Cahil and Kevin who showed us some pure Quin County Clare quintessential goodness…
