So after a night on the boat and getting used to not being in Euro land we arrived in Split harbour. We left Split early morning and drove to the old town of Trogir. and drove over to the island where we camped out wild the first night and campsite the second. Like Italy, camping wild is frowned upon…
Couple of days later we drove inland and visited the Krka National park. The park was very nice, surprisingly there were lots of foureign tourists there, whereas the coast was empty.
That night we stayed in a Campsite for vans, space for maybe 18 vans with a toilet block, all you need for 100 Kuna.
After a good nights sleep another drive further north to visit a second national park which was very much like Krka but pigger with even more tourists…
Plitvička Jezera
We left the park and drove towards the coast. Stopping at a wild site for the night we met up with a young french couple and had a nice chat. As it was getting dark Ivan a local drove into the site ion his twingo, he was completely drunk and kept us entertained for a few hours.
Morning after the night before
We made it back to the coast and took a boat to the Island of Cres, where we stayed for three lovely days, again in a campsite as fines were being handed out to people parked up on dirt tracks. Amazing really as the island was empty of tourists. We stayed in a campsite big enough for 1000 spots, but there was only us and a dozen big German vans.
Once we left the island we spent the last night parked up next to a fish restaurant where we had a lovely fish meal. Great place very friendly.
We filled up with diesel 160€ a litre and headed through Slovenia back into Italy….
The only shot in Slovenia….
